Training Course

Here is an information about the TRAINING COURSE proposed during the FSD8 Conference.

In the framework of the FSD8 Conference, a free Training Course is offered by an international team of researchers.

It will be organized before the official start of the conference, on Monday 25th August and Tuesday morning 26th August

The aim of the Training Course is to provide an introduction to the theories and methods of design for agrifood systems transition in the making.

Based on international research experiences, the Training Course will help the participants to understand the relationships between 'design', 'transition of agri-food systems’, and 'in the making', through various means:

  • Present a variety of theoretical frameworks on design processes for agrifood systems transition in the making,
  • Share a variety of methods and tools to analyze, take part in, or support design processes for agrifood systems transition in the making
  • Provide resources (people, references, etc.) and know-how to mobilize them in relation to one's own research program

The training Course aims to support participants in enhancing their reflexivity regarding: (i) theoretical frameworks, (ii) the use of methods and tools in their research approach, and (iii) their research stances (role in the design process). Due to the limited duration of the course, practical application of the methods presented will not be possible.

The Training Course is particularly intended for scientists who are not experts in design or innovation processes (especially PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and early-career researchers), whether they are practitioners or not, and who are interested in positioning their work in this field.

If you are interested in attending this Training Course, please fill out the pre-registration form below as soon as possible. Depending on the number of interested participants, the organizers may need to select those who will be accepted (maximum 30 participants) You will be notified of the decision around May 15th.

We precise that this course is free, provided you are registered for the FSD8 Conference.
